Com2uS is really leaning into webtoon and anime adaptations these days, signaling some exciting game projects on the horizon for major titles like Gachiakuta and Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. They’ve got bigger plans brewing for the next few years.
In their latest earnings call on Wednesday, the company confirmed that both games are targeting a 2027 release window.
They also made it clear that while their bread and butter still comes from long-standing hits like Summoners War and their sports game lineup, the real growth engine moving forward will be new IP-driven releases—especially those tied to globally beloved webtoon franchises.
One of the most exciting pieces of this puzzle is Com2uS’ push to build out games around Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, which has become a massive hit both as a Korean web novel and webtoon worldwide. They actually announced the game back in March 2025.
While the earnings call presentation mentioned the anime adaptation of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is also aiming for 2027, it’s worth noting that major distributors or production partners haven’t officially confirmed this yet—so that part remains a bit up in the air for now.
Alongside that, Gachiakuta is quickly becoming another cornerstone of Com2uS’ strategy. The company sees it as a perfect fit for their push into action-packed, globally popular titles with passionate fanbases across both manga and webtoon circles. Remember, they announced the game in December 2025 under the working title Gachiakuta: The Game.
Sure, Com2uS is also cooking up some original ideas—like a sprawling MMORPG rooted in Greek mythology—but their long-term vision is clearly shifting toward leveraging already-beloved stories. This lines up with a bigger industry shift where successful webtoons are becoming launchpads for everything from games and anime to live-action adaptations.
