Eren the Southpaw Anime Casts Natsumi Fujiwara

Akari Kishi’s manager appears in episode 6 on Tuesday.


New Cast Announcement

The production team behind the television anime adaptation of Hidarikiki no Eren (Eren the Southpaw) revealed that Natsumi Fujiwara will voice Sachiyo Saitō, the manager of Akari Kishi. Saitō makes her debut in episode 6, which airs on Tuesday.

The anime premiered on TV Tokyo and its network affiliates on 7 April (midnight, effectively 8 April at 00:00). It streams internationally on Amazon Prime Video in Japan.

Story Synopsis (from the teaser)

Halfway through high school, everyone begins to seriously consider their future. Koichi Asakura, who dreams of attending art school to become a designer, is shocked when graffiti appears on a museum wall. The artist is Eren Yamagishi, a left‑handed student whose talent has been suppressed by a past incident.

Through drawing, the two recognize each other, and each embarks on their own creative path: Koichi toward design, Eren toward painting.

Manga Updates

The manga’s official Shonen Jump+ page launched a new serialization on 4 March, set in 2026 and centered on a competition at the Meguro Advertising Agency. The 25th collected volume was released on 1 May.

Background

Creator Kappi originally debuted the series on the Cakes web‑manga platform in March 2016. A remake illustrated by nifuni began on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ in October 2017, concluding in October 2022 with an extra chapter released in December. The manga’s final compiled volumes (23 & 24) were also published by Shueisha, and a live‑action adaptation aired in October 2019.
