A new official website launched on Friday, confirming that the TV anime adaptation of Nana Mikoshiba’s light‑novel series The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World (Hyōken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu – Sekai Saikyō no Majutsushi de Aru Shōnen wa, Majutsu Gakuin ga Nyūgaku Suru) is receiving a second season, set to premiere this October.
The site also revealed the key staff and cast for the new cour.
Director Masahiro Takata returns, handling series composition, script supervision, and sound direction. Animation duties have shifted to Zero‑G, which replaces Cloud Hearts from the first season. Script contributors include returning writer Tomoko Shinozuka and newcomers Takahito Ōnishi (known for Whisper Me a Love Song and My Happy Marriage). The character designs are now by Mariko Kawamoto (Magica Wars), taking over from Makoto Shimojima.
Returning voice talent includes:
- Junya Enoki as Ray White
- Iori Saeki as Amelia Ros
- Akira Sekine as Ariane Olgren
The first season aired in January 2023, streamed simultaneously in Japan and internationally by Crunchyroll, which also provided an English dub.
Mikoshiba originally posted the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in October 2019. Kodansha began publishing the light‑novel volumes in July 2020, illustrated by Riko Korie. A manga adaptation by Norihito Sasaki ran in Magazine Pocket from June 2020 until its conclusion in January 2024, with the final (16th) volume released in April 2024. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release.

Update: The sequel’s website lists a manga titled Hyōken no Majutsushi ga Sekai wo Suberu II: Sekai Saikyō no Majutsushi de Aru Shōnen wa, Majutsu Gakuin ga Nyūgaku Suru, illustrated by Nao Kagami and composed by Ishiya Ōgane. It will be published by Niconico Manga under Kodansha’s “Suiyōbi no Sirius” label. Although the site links to the manga on Niconico, the publisher notes that it isn’t publicly available yet.
