Manga artist Mao Nanami announced on July 4 that she will launch a new manga in Square Enix’s Gangan Online service on July 26. The series is an adaptation of Ryō Midorikawa’s light novel Tensei Hakushaku Lilina no Kekkon (The Marriage of the Reincarnated Countess Lilina).
Nanami shared the announcement on social media, confirming the July 26 launch date and crediting Midorikawa as the original creator. She described the work as a romantic comedy about a young noblewoman attempting to reverse her fortunes in marriage.
The story follows a girl who reincarnates into a medieval fantasy world as Lilina, the sole heiress of a noble county title. After her grandfather passes away, Lilina inherits the title and makes her debut into aristocratic society. Her attempts to find a suitor among other nobles prove unsuccessful. When a handsome duke shows interest in her, Lilina initially suspects he is proposing only to ward off further annoying courtship offers, but the duke turns out to be genuinely sweet to her.
Midorikawa first serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in April 2025. Meteor Novels published the story digitally on May 7, with illustrations by Matsuri Akizono.
Nanami is best known for her romantic comedy manga Real Girl (3D Kanojo), which ran in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine from July 2011 to May 2016. Kodansha published the series in 12 compiled book volumes, and Kodansha USA Publishing released the manga digitally in English.
Real Girl inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in April 2018, followed by a second season in January 2019. A live-action film adaptation titled 3D Kanojo Real Girl opened in Japan in September 2018.
