NUMBER 8 and Ten Ishida wrapped up their Salaryman Z manga with the final chapter on Wednesday.
The story follows 40‑year‑old office worker Yūsaka Maeyamada, a die‑hard traditionalist who idolizes the businessmen of yesteryear. His routine is shattered when a mysterious virus sparks a zombie outbreak, forcing him to put his corporate survival instincts to the ultimate test.
NUMBER 8 and Ten Ishida debuted the series in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in August 2023. Kodansha released the sixth collected volume on February 20.
NUMBER 8 is best known as the editor of Shinichi Ishizuka’s Blue Giant manga and as the screenwriter for its anime film adaptation. He also serves as story director for the Blue Giant Supreme manga.
He previously teamed up with artist Ryōhei Masuko on the Strand manga, which concluded with its fifth volume in October 2025.
