The team behind SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: CLOUDY BEACH just dropped a fresh promotional video for the film, and fans are already buzzing.

Picking up where the TV series left off, Yuuki has finally beaten the infamous “thirty-year-old-wall” jinx that usually dooms players. Now she’s back in the game, stranded on a remote ocean island with seven other competitors—including someone she already knows. This time, they’re facing off in a deadly challenge called “Cloudy Beach.”
SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, the TV anime adaptation of writer Yūshi Ukai and artist Nekometal‘s hit light novel Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table (Shibō Yūgi de Meshi o Kuu), kicked off on January 7 with a supersized 60-minute premiere.
Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan and is also serving up a same-day English dub. Meanwhile, Netflix is streaming it internationally.
The movie brings back the core creative team: Sōta Ueno (Days With My Stepsister) directs at Studio DEEN, Rintarou Ikeda (The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement) handles series composition, and Eri Osada (Blade & Soul) designs the characters. Sound duties fall to Noriyoshi Konuma (The Dangers in My Heart).

Yen Press snagged the license for the light novel series, which they describe as:

Kadokawa‘s MF Bunko J imprint launched the light novel series in November 2022 after it won the Excellence Award at the 18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award. Volume 9 hit Japanese shelves January 23, with Volume 10 arriving June 25.
The series also claimed the top spot in the New Title category of Takarajimasha‘s 2024 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) rankings.
Meanwhile, Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine in April 2023, with Volume 5 releasing January 23.
