Square Enix revealed in a trailer on Monday that Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler 2 will receive physical and digital Nintendo Switch 2 releases in the West on October 1. Both games will be sold individually or together in a digital bundle. The Switch 2 versions launched digitally in Japan on the same Monday the trailer aired.
The trailer closes by stating that there are no plans to offer an upgrade path from the original Nintendo Switch versions. Save data is also incompatible between the two editions.
The announcement marks the eighth anniversary of the series.
