Tubi TV just dropped some exciting news: they’ve picked up Yokoso Scooby-Doo!, a brand-new anime twist on the classic mystery comedy franchise. Warner Bros. Animation is producing the series, with the legendary anime studio OLM (you know them from Pokémon) handling the animation. The show is being directed by Itsurō Kawasaki—the creative force behind hits like Baban Baban Ban Vampire, the 2018 Cardfight!! Vanguard, and The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil. And of course, we’ve got the original voices returning: Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo and Matthew Lillard as Shaggy.
Here’s the scoop from Tubi TV’s description: While Scooby and Shaggy are on what’s supposed to be the ultimate foodie tour of Japan, they accidentally unleash hundreds of mythical monsters causing chaos across the country. Luckily, they’re not alone—Scooby’s uncle Daisuke-Doo joins the hunt, along with new friends Yume (a magical girl) and Takumi (a gadget genius). Together, they dive into a brand-new mystery packed with monster chases and plenty of fun.
This isn’t the first time Warner Bros. Animation has teased a Scooby-Doo anime adventure. Back at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2024, they announced a series called Go-Go Mystery Machine, originally planned for Cartoon Network. The premise sounds pretty similar, and they even shared a promotional poster back then.
And just last November in Brazil, Warner Bros. hinted at another project: Scooby-Doo! Gokko, a short anime set to premiere in 2027. They described it as a fun, bite-sized take on the franchise focusing on Scooby and Shaggy. (Fun fact: it’s reminiscent of Warner Bros. Japan’s Tom & Jerry Gokko shorts, which Fanworks has been producing monthly since late 2022, with Studio Nanahoshi lending a hand on animation.)
