Always a Catch! Anime Casts Asaki Yuikawa

The TV adaptation of Mayo Momoyo’s light‑novel series Always a Catch! (original Japanese title Nigashita Sakana wa Ōkikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ōkisugita Ken) has announced new casting for episode 7, which airs on May 13. Asaki Yuikawa will voice Maria’s younger brother, Teodorico.
Square Enix Manga & Books publishes the English manga adaptation, which is described as a “zany romantic comedy starring a duke’s daughter who’s more of a fighter than a lady and a prince who’s into that.” The story follows Maria Annovazzi, a duke’s daughter trained in martial arts, as she navigates an unexpected shift in her inheritance and a sudden quest for marriage.

Source Material
Mayo Momoyo originally posted the short story “Nigashita Sakana wa Ōkikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ōkisugita Ken” on the user‑generated novel site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2020, later expanding it into a full series. Square Enix began publishing the light novels in 2021, illustrated by Mito. The manga adaptation, drawn by Kaki Nagato, started on Square Enix’s Manga UP! service in April 2022. Both the seventh novel volume and the manga’s tenth compiled volume were released on April 7.
English digital releases are handled by Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global, Kadokawa’s BookWalker Global Store, and Comikey.
