Over the past two months, the anime’s website has been rolling out Nemesis cast reveals weekly. Here’s who’s joining the roster (though keep in mind these name spellings aren’t official yet):

Mark your calendars—this summer, Cyborg 009: Nemesis will be streaming for everyone to enjoy.
Hideki Ambo is taking the director’s chair at Arect, while Atsuhiro Tomioka (you might know him from Pokémon) and CHARATEX are handling the screenplay. Character designs come courtesy of sanorin.
The theme song “Taga Tame ni” (For Whom) will be performed by Kyōko of the Barbee Boys rock band. Fun fact: this track originally appeared in the 1979 Cyborg 009 TV anime, with lyrics penned by Ishinomori himself and sung by Ken Narita and Koorogi ’73.
Speaking of history, Shōtarō Ishinomori first launched the original Cyborg 009 manga in Shōnengahōsha’s Weekly King magazine back in July 1964. The story follows Black Ghost—a shadowy organization trying to plunge the world into endless war by turning nine unwilling people into cyborg soldiers. Naturally, the cyborgs rebel and fight back against their creators.
This iconic manga has inspired multiple anime adaptations over the years (1968, 1979, and 2001), plus films in 1966, 1967, and 1980. More recently, we got the 2012 movie 009 Re:Cyborg and the 2016 film Cyborg 009 Call of Justice. There was even a 2015 OVA crossover with Devilman.
The legacy continues today: Tsuguo Okazaki launched Cyborg 009 Bgooparts Delete in July 2019 (wrapping up in September 2022), and scriptwriter Masaki Tsuji teamed up with artist Masato Hayase in April 2024 for Cyborg 009 Taiheiyō no Bōrei (Cyborg 009: Ghost of the Pacific).
