Mark your calendars! Ōhashi Hirai’s baseball manga The Days of Diamond is making its comeback in Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine, with serialization resuming in the June 4 issue (the 27th issue of the year).
This return comes after the series went on hiatus back on January 22. But if you’ve been following the manga’s rollercoaster schedule, this isn’t the first time it’s taken a break—and come back swinging.
The manga actually returned from a previous hiatus just last September 18, only to have paused earlier that month on September 5 while Hirai focused on finishing the seventh compiled volume. Originally planned for an October 3 return, that break got extended to October 31, 2024.
And let’s not forget the August 2024 hiatus—taken for personal reasons—which wrapped up by month’s end.

“I was meant to play baseball!” Jiro Ayasegawa has a natural gift for sports, but life can be lonely at the top. He’s crushed other players’ dreams. Hirai first launched this series in Young Jump back in February 2023, and Shueisha recently dropped the ninth compiled volume on December 18.
