Heads up, fans of quirky student council antics! The artist behind Even the Student Council Has Its Holes!, Muchimaro, is stepping back for a bit to focus on her health. Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine confirmed the hiatus this week, explaining the manga will pause after the current issue and return with the 27th issue on June 3.
The good news? The update specifically mentioned that Muchimaro’s health is on the mend. That’s definitely a relief to hear!
Just to recap what we’re waiting for: Seven Seas has the English license and plans to drop the first physical volume on September 8 (they’ve already got the digital version rolling via K MANGA too). Back in Japan, the 12th compiled volume hit shelves in March.
And hey, if you’ve been enjoying the manga’s charmingly weird slice-of-life vibes—where Mizunoe Ume finds himself stuck with a delightfully oddball student council—you’ll be excited to know this break isn’t slowing down the anime adaptation plans. The series is still very much inspiring a television anime!
