Hong Kong distributor Neofilms has released an English‑ and Chinese‑subtitled trailer for the new compilation film Shin‑Gekijōban Gintama: Yoshiwara Daienjō (Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames). The trailer confirms that the film will debut in Hong Kong on June 4 with the original Japanese audio, followed by a Cantonese dub starting June 11.

Box Office Success in Japan

The film opened in Japan on February 13 and secured the #2 spot on its opening weekend. It sold 262,700 tickets and grossed ¥405,617,328 (about US$2.64 million) in just three days.

Story and New Content

This compilation adapts episodes 139‑146 of the television series and adds newly animated scenes plus characters that did not appear in the original arc. Notably, veteran voice actor Kappei Yamaguchi provides the voice of Enkaku, an original character who serves as close aide to Hōsen.
