Gyōmuyōmochi Launches New Manga in July
Artist to launch Mushagakuen Japanese fantasy manga
The June issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine announced on May 7 that manga author Gyōmuyōmochi will debut a new Japanese‑fantasy series titled Mushagakuen. The story will appear in the August issue of the magazine, which ships in July. An official X/Twitter account for the manga also launched on May 7.
Gyōmuyōmochi previously adapted Asa Rokushima’s The Laid‑Off Cheat‑Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life (shortened to “Chi‑Fuyo”) into manga form for Shōnen Magazine R in November 2021. After Shōnen Magazine R ceased publication, the manga moved to Kodansha’s Comic Days app in March 2023, and its 20th compiled volume was released on May 8.
Kodansha’s K MANGA service is already publishing the Chi‑Fuyo manga in English, and the series is slated for a TV anime adaptation by P.A. Works.
