Story Premise
The series follows a brilliant doctor who solves murders and medical mysteries at a general hospital’s Diagnosis Department. Chinen, drawing on his medical background, blends forensic investigation with clinical insight.

- Anime TV series – Aired Jan 2025, streamed worldwide by Crunchyroll under the title Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective. An English dub was also released.
- Live‑action TV drama – Debuted Apr 2025, based on the same light‑novel source material.
Source Material
The manga adapts Chinen’s light‑novel series, originally published by Shinchosha (13 volumes, Oct 2014–Sept 2022). Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha began re‑issuing the novels in Oct 2023, adding three new volumes. The novel series has sold over 3 million copies.
Related Works by the Creators
Hiroki Ohara launched a previous manga adaptation of the novels in Monthly Comic @Bunch (2016–2018), which concluded after four volumes.
Eri Takenashi is also known for the Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens manga (Ichijinsha, 2005‑2017), which was adapted into an anime in 2008.
