Source Material
The series adapts Tōwa’s light‑novel The World’s Strongest Rearguard – Labyrinth Country’s Novice Seeker (Japanese title: Sekai Saikyō no Kōei: Meikyūkoku no Shinjin Tansakusha), published by Kadokawa with illustrations by Huuka Kazabana. Yen Press releases the novels in English.
Synopsis (Yen Press)
Corporate slave Arihito Atobe dies in a bizarre bus accident and is reborn in a fantasy world as a “Seeker.” He joins an all‑female party as a “rearguard,” a class that boosts allies’ attacks, defenses, and recovery. Because he always stays at the back of the party line, his companions grow increasingly fond of him. Free from office life, Arihito is eager to start his new adventure.

The light novel began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site in April 2017; the manga adaptation launched on Kadokawa’s Comic Walker in March 2018, with ten volumes released to date (English version also by Yen Press).
