The 17th tankōbon of Hirohisa Satō’s Mother Parasite was announced on Wednesday, and it reveals that the series will kick off its final arc in the next volume, slated for release this September.
English‑language publisher Comikey is handling the translation, and they sum up the story as follows:
At first glance, middle‑schooler Ryota Miki appears to get along with his adoptive mother. In reality, she lives in constant fear of his every move—rightly so, since he’s secretly tracking every mistake she makes. Meanwhile, classmate Kaoru Kasai is fed up with Ryota’s over‑protective “helicopter” mother, blaming her for his bullying. One day, Ryota rescues Kaoru, sparking a tense friendship. Dive into this psycho‑suspense about a boy obsessed with finding the perfect mother!
Satō originally launched the series on Coamix’s Comic Zenon website back in June 2020. Besides Comikey, the manga is also available in English through Coamix’s own platforms and the Imagineer‑run MangaHot app and website.
The digital‑manga service Azuki (now operating as Omoi) has published Satō’s other works in English, such as Suzuki Just Wants a Quiet Life. Both Comikey and MangaHot have also released his Shigahime manga in English.
