This year’s 12th issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior revealed on Friday that Satoshi Miyakawa’s Namae no Nai Byōki (A Disease Without a Name) manga is set to wrap up after just three more chapters. The next installment will appear in the June 12 issue of the magazine.
The series launched in August 2024, and Shogakukan released its third collected volume on February 27.
Namae no Nai Byōki follows Miyakawa’s reclusive older brother, who has been shut away for thirty years. The story earned the Grand Prize in the Superior Document Comic Grand Prize competition this year, netting Miyakawa a ¥1 million award (about US $6,784) and a guaranteed serialization.
In the 2026 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook, the series ranked among the top 20 manga for male readers.
Earlier this year, Miyakawa teamed up with Kawa to launch Ochiai Hiromitsu no Oreryū Tensei (Hiromitsu Ochiai’s Self‑Reincarnation) in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in March 2024.
Miyakawa also partnered with Keisuke Gotō to finish the Wanope Joker manga in 2023. The duo previously launched a Batman‑Joker collaboration manga in Morning (January 2021) as part of a DC Comics partnership, with Kodansha publishing the third and final volume in April 2023 and DC releasing it in English.
In October 2015, Miyakawa and Kei Itō debuted Uchū Senkan Tiramisu (Space Battleship Tiramisu) on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website, concluding the run in 2020.
The manga even inspired a 13‑episode anime that aired in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series with subtitles, while Funimation provided an English dub. A second season, Space Battleship Tiramisu Zwei, premiered in October 2018, again streamed by Crunchyroll and later dubbed by Funimation.
