Toei Animation announced on Friday the title, platforms, and English release for the visual novel developed by Studio51 Inc. The game is part of the Expelled from Paradise franchise.
The visual novel is titled Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel- (also known as Rakuen Tsuihō -The Stellar Angel-). It is scheduled for release in winter 2026 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with both English and Japanese language support.
Story Description
A brand-new sequel depicting the aftermath of the theatrical anime Expelled from Paradise. The story of Angela and Dingo begins to move once more. This is a full-scale visual novel that weaves a grand sci-fi vision through evocative text and immersive direction.
Related Anime Film
The all-new feature-length anime film Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- Kokoro no Resonance (Heart’s Resonance) serves as a sequel to the original Expelled from Paradise film. It is set to open in Japan on November 13, 2025.
The film reunites the core staff from the original movie, including director Seiji Mizushima, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, character designer Masatsugu Saitō, and composer NARASAKI. Toei Animation is handling the animation production.
Originally announced as Rakuen Tsuihō: Liberated from Paradise, the film’s title was later updated to Rakuen Tsuihō -Expelled from Paradise- Kokoro no Resonance (also referenced as Rakuen Tsuihō: Kokoro no Resonance).
Background
The original Expelled from Paradise premiered in 13 Japanese theaters in November 2014, selling 110,000 tickets. Its Blu-ray and DVD releases in Japan surpassed 70,000 copies. In May 2015, the film won the Best Animation of the Year Award at the 24th Japan Movie Critics Awards.
Aniplex of America released the film in 15 U.S. theaters in December 2014, followed by a Blu-ray Disc release across North, Central, and South America in June 2015.
The movie returned to Japanese theaters in November 2024 in 4K resolution under the title Expelled from Paradise -Impelled by 10th Anniversary- to mark its 10‑year anniversary.
