Great news for visual novel fans! A fresh website for Meiji Tokyo Renka: Twilight Kiss dropped on Friday, and it’s got something exciting to share. The sequel to the beloved Meiji Tokyo Renka Full Moon visual novel is finally making its way West in 2026, landing on Nintendo Switch and Steam. Players will be able to enjoy the game with English, Japanese, or Chinese subtitles—all with the original Japanese voice acting intact.
This sequel first launched in Japan way back in April 2015, so fans have been waiting a long time for this English release!
Dramatic Create is handling the publishing duties for this release. The gorgeous character designs come from Karu, while Yukiko Uozumi served as the scenario supervisor—same team that brought you the original.
The game features an impressive voice cast, too. We’re talking heavy hitters like Daisuke Namikawa, KENN, Kōsuke Toriumi, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Jun Fukuyama, Shinnosuke Tachibana, and Toshiyuki Morikawa all lending their talents to the project.
If you’re new to the series, here’s the backstory: MAGES. first released Meiji Tokyo Renka Full Moon for PlayStation Vita back in August 2016. Then, in October 2024, they brought it to Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam), with support for Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. That release even included a bonus scenario written by Yukiko Uozumi and a fresh key visual from Karu. KENN also performs the game’s theme song, “Tokyo Roman-tan” (Tokyo Romantic Story).
The Broccoli and Love&Art’s Meiji Tokyo Renka franchise actually started as a mobile game way back in 2011, then made its way to PSP in 2013. It proved popular enough to get a live-action series and film in 2019.
The anime adaptations have been pretty extensive, too. There was a film called Gekijōban Meiji Tokyo Renka: Yumihari no Serenade in 2015, followed by Gekijōban Meiji Tokyo Renka: Hanakagami no Fantasia in May 2016. Then the TV anime adaptation premiered in January 2019, with Crunchyroll streaming it and Funimation handling the English dub. Funimation also released it on home video.
