Inti Creates revealed at the Bit Summit on Friday that it is working on Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger iX 3 for the Nintendo Switch 2 and for PC via Steam, with a target launch in 2027.

Inti Creates describes the upcoming title:
The third chapter of the fast‑paced 2D action series returns Copen to his home world to confront a fresh menace. A mysterious girl appears, warning of otherworldly invaders known as “iX Bearers.” While retaining the classic 2D combat of its predecessors, iX 3 introduces twin energy blades called “Divide Edge” to raise the stakes.
Players will also enjoy a deep “Code Customizer” system that lets you shape Copen’s abilities to suit your playstyle—if you can master its mechanics.
Gunvolt Chronicles : Luminous Avenger iX 3 is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam in 2027.
A demo for the Gunvolt Chronicles : Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection will be playable at Bit Summit this weekend.
Inti Creates‘ Gunvolt Chronicles : Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection—which bundles the first two entries (Shiroki Kōtetsu no X: The Out of Gunvolt)—is set to launch on Switch 2, the original Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam on July 9, complete with all DLC and balance updates.
The original Gunvolt Chronicles : Luminous Avenger iX hit Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in September 2019. An Xbox One version was planned for the same day but was pushed to December 2019 after a crash bug was discovered.
The sequel, Gunvolt Chronicles : Luminous Avenger iX 2, launched in January 2022 across Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
In July 2025, Inti Creates released the Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced—a polished collection of Azure Striker Gunvolt, its sequel, and the third game—on PS5 and Switch. A Switch 2 version with an added story mode is scheduled for later this year.
The original Azure Striker Gunvolt debuted in North America on the Nintendo 3DS in August 2014. Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 arrived on 3DS in August 2016 in Japan and September 2016 in the U.S., while Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 launched on Switch in July 2022, on Xbox consoles in August 2022, and on PC via Steam in October 2022.
