The official website for DonutsTokyo 7th Sisters idol‑raising smartphone game announced on Thursday that the service will end on August 12, exactly 12 years after the game launched in February 2014. The main storyline will conclude with the “Stella MiNE” group’s arc in the current Episode 2053.

Donuts is also developing an offline version of the game. This version will let players view the full story, use the built‑in music player, watch stage events, and browse acquired cards. The goal is to retain as much of the original functionality as possible.

The franchise still has plans for future concerts and merchandise releases.

Set in the near‑future year 2034, the game takes place two years after a popular idol duo suddenly disbanded, leaving the public to view idols as relics of a bygone era. Players assume the role of a manager at Nanastar, an idol agency, tasked with recruiting new idols to revive the idol age. The title is praised for its ongoing narrative, deep character development, and a realistic look at the entertainment industry. Chief director Shintarō Motegi oversees the project.

The game inspired an anime film titled Tokyo 7th Sisters: Bokura wa Aozora ni Naru. The film debuted in Japan in February 2021 after being delayed from a summer 2020 release due to the COVID‑19 pandemic.
